LAS VEGAS — A pair of noteworthy offensive efforts by Jahmir Young and Trey Alexander helped the Denver Nuggets hold off the New Orleans Pelicans for a 91-82 win in an NBA 2K25 Summer League battle at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The Nuggets appeared well on their way to an easy victory after forging a 29-8 lead through the first 10 minutes, but the Pelicans responded with an almost as impressive second quarter that saw them shave 13 points from their deficit.
Denver built its advantage back up by seven in the third, but New Orleans battled all the way back to forge a pair of late ties before Alexander and Young helped seal the victory with a step-back jumper and 25-footer, respectively.
Keion Brooks Jr. led the Pelicans with a game-high 24 points, adding four rebounds, three assists and four blocks. Jordan Ford furnished 20 points, six assists and five rebounds. Antonio Reeves finished with 18 points, five boards, one assist, one steal and one block.
Young led the Nuggets with 21 points, which he supplemented with five assists and three rebounds. Alexander provided 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Hunter Tyson posted 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
PJ Hall matched Tyson’s scoring and added three rebounds, two assists and three blocks.
Summer League play has now concluded for both teams.
