LAS VEGAS — A stellar offensive effort from Blake Hinson and dominant team defense in the opening and and final quarters spearheaded the Los Angeles Lakers to a 107-81 thumping of the Chicago Bulls in an NBA 2K25 Summer League battle at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday evening.

The Lakers wasted no time setting the tone in the blowout victory, jumping out to a 39-18 lead through one, which was fueled by a 32-9 run over the final 6:38 of the period. The Bulls’ defense clamped down in the middle quarters, but they’d only whittled seven points from their deficit heading into the final period. Los Angeles then rediscovered its offense over the final 10 minutes, outscoring Chicago by a 35-23 margin in that span for the lopsided win.

Dereon Seabron led the Bulls with 18 points, complementing them with five assists and four rebounds. Henri Drell supplied 10 points, seven boards, two assists, one steal and one block. Rookie first-round pick Matas Buzelis and DJ Steward generated matching 10-point, one-steal tallies while recording four rebounds and four assists, respectively.

Hinson paced the Lakers with 25 points, supplementing them with three rebounds and two assists. Quincy Olivari delivered 20 points, three boards and one steal. Moses Brown supplied 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Vincent Valerio-Bodon matched Brown’s scoring and added four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.

Summer League play has now concluded for both teams.
