Pre-Draft Outlook
It’s been a long time since the Knicks have had so much certainty going into the offseason. They’ve got a star guard, a strong supporting cast and a successful coach who has buy-in on both ends of the floor. They just need to be healthier than they were at the end of the conference semifinals, when Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson and Bojan Bogdanovic were all on the shelf, with Josh Hart also banged up.
The Way to Go
The Knicks are trying to win right now and it’s doubtful that they can find a player in the late first round who would be able to crack Tom Thibodeau’s rotation in the next two years. It also seems doubtful that they’d want two guaranteed rookie salaries on their roster going forward. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if they trade one or both of their first-rounders, maybe consolidating the two for a better pick in this Draft or a future one.
